Privacy Policy

What we collect

Account data: your name, email address and sign-in provider (through Google Firebase Authentication).

Billing data: handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, never your card number.

Usage data: pages viewed, searches saved, exports and API requests, and how you found us (for example the ad campaign or referring site).

Public records: the permit data in the Service comes from city open-data portals and can include names and phone numbers of contractors, applicants and property owners as published by those cities.

How we use it

To provide the Service and your email alerts, process payments, prevent abuse, measure and improve our marketing, and communicate with you about your account.

Advertising and analytics

We use Google Analytics, Google Ads, the Meta Pixel and PostHog to understand site usage and measure advertising. These tools may set cookies and may count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information under some U.S. state laws. You can opt out with the "Do not sell or share my personal information" link in the site footer, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals automatically.

Sharing

We share personal information only with service providers that run the Service for us (hosting on Google Cloud and Vercel, authentication, Stripe, our email provider and the analytics tools above), when required by law, or in a business transfer. We do not sell your account information to data brokers.

Retention and security

We keep account data while your account is open and for up to 3 years after for legal and accounting purposes. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our cloud providers.

Your choices and rights

You can access, correct or delete your account data, and opt out of marketing email, by writing to support@uspermitsearch.com. Residents of states with privacy laws (such as California) have additional rights, which we honor for all U.S. users. If a permit record names you and you believe it is inaccurate, contact the issuing city; we will also review removal requests.
